West London College is a Further Education college with three large centres located in Ealing, Hammersmith, and Southall. For nearly 150 years, we have been providing training and development in the area, helping over 10,000 students achieve their career goals each year.
Our mission is to inspire learning and improve lives through education, training and skills development that supports social and economic success for our students, businesses and communities across West London.
We offer a range of vocational courses, including BTECs and T Levels, in a diverse range of areas including accounting and bookkeeping, applied science, art and design, building and construction, business, childcare, computing and IT, creative and digital media, engineering and motor vehicle, hairdressing and barbering, health and social care, hospitality and catering, make-up and beauty therapy, public services, sport and fitness, and travel and tourism. Our teachers are highly supportive and encourage students to work hard to achieve their ambitions. We ensure all our students are equipped for their chosen future career with a highly effective and impactful work experience programme, working with hundreds of employers in the region.
Each of our three colleges has specialties, with our main college in Hammersmith and Fulham boasting computer suites, health and social care areas, realistic travel and tourism facilities, a large sports hall and boxing ring, and more, whilst Ealing Green College is a hub of creativity, with a TV studio, photography darkroom and specialist labs. Over at Southall Community College, we have a bespoke construction and green skills centre, including large motor vehicle workshops. - Jamal Edwards MBE (1990-2022) - Founder and CEO of SB.TV, Entrepreneur and Media Mogul
- Sir Steven McQueen CBE - Oscar-winning director, screenwriter, and film producer; director of "12 Years A Slave" (2013) and "Hunger" (2011)
- Estelle - Grammy-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, actress, and producer; had a UK #1 with "American Boy" featuring Kanye West (2008)
- Shola Ama - Brit award and MOBO-award winning singer and songwriter
- Terri Walker - singer and songwriter
- Marcus Brigstocke - stand-up comedian, actor and satirist
- Clarke Carlisle - former professional footballer, and chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association
- David Ajala - actor; has appeared in "Supergirl" (2018), "Nightflyers" (2018) and "Star Trek: Discovery" (2020)
- Trevor Baylis (1937-2018) - inventor; created the wind-up radio to communicate information about HIV/AIDS to low-income countries
- Ralph Miliband (1924-1994) - father of Labour MPs Ed Miliband and David Miliband
- Professor Dianne Willcocks CBE - former Vice Chancellor of York St John University
- Laurence Broderick ARBS FRSA - sculptor; created 'The Bull' at the Bull Ring shopping centre in Birmingham
- Adam Babah-Alargi (1927-2019) - engineer, responsible for many national projects in Ghana
